The Unsalted Sailing Flotilla is back for 2022! Our dealer, Great Lakes Sailing Co is excited to lead the flotilla to the many islands, anchorages and harbor towns near Traverse City! This year, the flotilla leaders include Matt & Andrea aboard their Sun Odyssey 410. They have cruised their Jeanneau 410 extensively throughout the area and are happy to share their cruising stories and local knowledge.
Also, Capt Paul Davis aboard a NEW Sun Odyssey 380 -- who will also be conducting an ASA 104 class. Paul Davis is a licensed captain and ASA instructor and has been on many of the Unsalted Sailing Flotilla events. Paul and his students will follow the fleet combining the learning and cruising experience.
THE PLAN
FRIDAY AFTERNOON Early boarding and provisioning followed by a reception dinner with cocktails and chart briefing.
SATURDAY MORNING Vessel systems and safety briefing with a GLSC Briefing Captain
WHERE TO? All depends on Mother Nature. Suttons Bay, Northport, Charlevoix, Elk Rapids, Power Island, Ingalls Bay, Omema, and Old Mission are all very good possibilities during the event. Maybe even venture up to Petoskey area or Boyne City. Most destinations will have both a marina option and an anchoring out option for the overnight but marinas can be full so anchoring might be the only option at times. All boats will be equipped with dinghies and propane grills for the real cruising experience.
